This guide assumes you are already familiar with the basic functionality of Windows Mobile 5/6 and know how to install software.

Installation Instructions

The PC installer version will install RepeatingAlerts Pro on your device using ActiveSync on your desktop PC. Or, by copying the CAB file version directly to your device and clicking on it, RepeatingAlerts Pro can be installed without needing ActiveSync. RepeatingAlerts Pro should be installed in your device's main memory, not on the storage card. Please accept all warnings during the installation process on the device. After installation is complete, you will find the RepeatingAlerts Pro application icon installed in your Start menu.

Using the Installed RepeatingAlerts Pro Application

The RepeatingAlerts Pro application (the icon looks like a blue lighthouse) is used to control the functionality of RepeatingAlerts Pro on your device. When you first install RepeatingAlerts Pro, you will have 7 days to use the program for free before it stops functioning. At that time, you will need to purchase and enter your Activation Code in order to continue using the program.

MENU: Hardware

Before you can use RepeatingAlerts Pro, you must assign your device’s hardware (LEDs, vibration) features to the application. Select Hardware from the right Menu soft key.

Hardware Setup Screen

Vibrate: This is usually “Hardware” Device 1, continue to TEST each device number until the correct hardware device is found for that feature and assigned correctly. In other words, until the device vibrates.

LED Assignment: (Samsung Epix example used, may be different on your device). This is usually hardware devices other than 1, continue to TEST each device number until the correct hardware device is found for that feature and assigned correctly. In other words, until the LED blinks the color of the the label.

Blue: Device 4

Green: Device 3

Red: Device 2

Yellow: Device 5

Purple: Device 6

Lt Blue: Device 7

TEST each setting to make sure the hardware device is assigned to the correct option.

PLEASE NOTE: On the Treo Pro the Hardware menu is not available. Vibrate and the center d-pad Beacon LED are automatically assigned.

Press DONE when finished to save your Hardware Settings.

Event Alert Settings Screen

On this screen, you select which Windows Mobile notifications you would like to repeat and with which alert options.

Event: Choose which new notification event you would like RepeatingAlerts to monitor for activity and repeat the designated alerts for. The following events are available:

New E-Mail Received

New SMS Received

New MMS Received

New Voice Mail Received

Missed Call

Calendar/Task Reminder

Select your first event from the EVENT drop down menu, and then check the MONITOR box. This tells RepeatingAlerts that you would like it to “listen” for this event and repeat alert options for it.

Repeat: This drop down menu tells RepeatingAlerts how many times you would like it to repeat the alert options for this event. The following options are available:

Indefinite: Alerts will keep repeating and will not stop until the event is dismissed (Email read, voice mail checked, etc.) by the user. PLEASE NOTE: This option will impact battery life.

2 x: Alerts will repeat two times or stop sooner if the event is dismissed (Email read, voice mail checked, etc.) by the user.

3 x: Alerts will repeat three times or stop sooner if the event is dismissed (Email read, voice mail checked, etc.) by the user.

4 x: Alerts will repeat four times or stop sooner if the event is dismissed (Email read, voice mail checked, etc.) by the user.

5 x: Alerts will repeat five times or stop sooner if the event is dismissed (Email read, voice mail checked, etc.) by the user.

A setting of 4x is typical for most users.

Sound file: On this drop down menu select either “None” and RepeatingAlerts will not play a sound file when the alert is triggered or select a sound file to play from the list. Sound files can include most WAV, MP3, WMA, and MID file types.

LED: On this drop down menu, select either “None” for no LED or an LED color from the list to activate when an alert occurs. The available LED colors from this list are based on the Hardware setup described earlier.

Vibrate: Check this box to have RepeatingAlerts vibrate the device three short times in a row when an alert occurs.

Blink screen: Check this box to have RepeatingAlerts blink the LCD screen when an alert occurs. This option is helpful if your device does not support any external LEDs.

Popup notification: Check this box to have RepeatingAlerts display a standard Windows Mobile notification window when an alert occurs.

MENU: Options

The General Options screen is where you would select options that typically affect all alerts and monitored events.

Repeat Alert Every: On this drop down menu, select the interval RepeatingAlerts will wait before triggering the next alert. The default is 1 minute, which is typical for most users. Other options include:

2 minutes

3 minutes

4 minutes

5 minutes

10 minutes

15 minutes

PLEASE NOTE: The higher this setting, the longer the alerts will repeat until dismissed. For example, if you had selected 4x for the event setting and 1 minute for this option, the alerts will repeat for a total of 4 minutes (4x X 1 minute). The longer the alert duration, the more impact this will have on battery life.

Sound file Duration: On this drop down menu, select the duration (in seconds) a sound file should play if one is selected as an event alert option. Some sound files may be a total of 1 or 2 minutes in length but you only want the first few seconds played as an alert. The following options are available:

10 Seconds

30 Seconds

1 Minute

2 Minutes

3 Minutes

4 Minutes

5 Minutes

Sleep from: If this box is checked, RepeatingAlerts will not repeat any alerts between the “Sleep from” and “To” time period. A typical setting for this would be to sleep from 10:00pm to 7:00am.

Trigger on first instance: If this box is checked, RepeatingAlerts will trigger all of the alert options specified for an event the first time the event actually occurs (when the email or SMS arrives, or voice mail is left). If this box is not checked, the first alert will occur AFTER (1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, etc. whatever was selected as the Repeat Alert Every value) the event occurs the first time.

PLEASE NOTE: This option is defaulted to checked on the Samsung Epix due to an internal design flaw with this device. If this box is not checked, a sound file may not be played when an alert occurs.

PLEASE NOTE: If this box is checked, both the Windows Mobile Sounds & Notification control panel options and the RepeatingAlerts event alert options will play simultaneously the first time the event occurs. If you want to use this option, typically you would turn off the Windows Mobile Sounds & Notification options for each event also being monitored by RepeatingAlerts.

Clear Email alerts on Messaging Launch: When this box is checked, all active and selected email alert options will stop when the Messaging application is launched or brought to the foreground. With the box unchecked, email alerts will continue until all unread messages are read.

Vibrate based on unread messages: When this box is checked and vibrate is checked as an alert option, RepeatingAlerts will vibrate the device based on the number of unread Email messages (up to 10). This is helpful if your device is in your pocket and for example, 4 unread messages arrive at the next mail check, RepeatingAlerts will vibrate the device 4 times in a row. With the box unchecked the default pattern is 3 times.

Suspend prevention: This option is defaulted to “High”. This option is used for troubleshooting and is typically left unchanged.

Press DONE when finished to save your General Options changes.

Start Key (left soft key):

MENU: Register (Program Activation)

When the 7 day free trial has expired, RepeatingAlerts Pro will stop functioning and you will need to visit www.qorefunctions.com or a QoreFunctions authorized online reseller to purchase an Activation Code to re-activate the program.

After the purchase is complete, you will need to request an Activation Code from our web site and supply the Owner Name of your device (typically your full name) found under Owner Information in the Control Panel.

MENU: Cancel

Choose this option from the Menu (right soft key) to exit from the application without saving your changes.
